Inositol, formerly known as Vitamin B8 but is more commonly considered a pseudovitamin, is found primarily in fruits and whole grains, but it can also be synthesized by the human body from glucose. The name collectively refers to the molecules that have a similar structure, a group of nine stereoisomers. The stereoisomer in particular that it’s named after is called myo-inositol. It plays an essential role in the communication that occurs between cell-to-cell communications (e.g.; transmission of nerve impulses). It also assists in the health and maintenance of cell membranes tissues in the brain, liver, and muscles. Inositol is an indirect source of glucuronic acid, a sugar acid derived from glucose that plays a key role in the metabolism cycle. The use of Vitamin B8 has been used to support fertility health in women, blood sugar health, and may assist in reducing anxiety.†

    inositol pwder

Posted by Lisa on 27th Feb 2016

I have only been using this product for a week, and so far no side effects, that are noticeable yet. I have been using 6 grams (2 teaspoons) twice a day in water or unsweetened iced tea. I am being treated for anxiety, major depressive disorder and PTSD. My Psychiatrist gave me an information sheet on it, and recommended it as a supplement. I also am trying it to see if it will help with possibly losing some weight which is caused by some of the psych meds I take. At this point, I have to say that I haven't felt the overall feeling of exhaustion I was experiencing recently, and actually feel less "brain fog" and an increase in my ability to focus more clearly. I don't know if the Inositol Powder is the reason, but I am continuing to take it, and will update after my 4th week passes.

I have only been using this product for just over a week so my review is limited. I have yet to experience any significant results. However, I can attest to certain side effects. I have experienced moderate nausea and headaches with product use. I have taken with food and on empty stomach. The nausea lasts about 2-3 hours, the headache lasts half the day. I use 1/4 tsp in 8 oz water daily. I am hoping that with continued use the side effects will lessen. I will continue using this product and will update my review with changes.
